I'm headed off to college and I'll have an XL twin mattress in my dorm room. I haven't been able to find alot of XL comforters that I like, and I was wondering if a twin bedspread would really be too short. I figure they usually have alot of extra length at the end to cover the end of the bed, but dorm bunkbeds don't really allow for that, anyway.

I'm looking for a Twin XL mattress that's about 7" thick. Plus an inch or 2. It's for a loft. I can go one of 2 ways: 1) Buy a cheap mattress and put a memory foam topper on it 2) buy an memory foam bed. Any recommendations of what bed to get? Where to buy one? Should I just go to a store to try them out? Can I buy them online? Ideally I'd like to spend less than $500, but willing to move up if it's really good quality.

I'm going to college this fall and I've sent numerous emails to their housing department and they still have not answered. I want to know the standard size for dorm room mattresses, I understand that they are extra long twin, I just want the dimensions. I was also wondering where I could find some comforters and what not. I already know of JCPenney, Target, Linens 'n Things, The Company Store, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Walmart, and a few others. And also, can I fit a normal twin size comforter on the XL twin mattress? I heard I could do that, I just need the XL sheets. Thanks.

The Twin XL mattress is 80" long and 12" deep. The Twin sheets are made for mattresses 75" long and 18" deep. Would these sheets cover the entire mattress?

I know twin and twin XL are different, but I heard that most twin sheets will fit twin XL mattresses, just snugly. Is this true?
