how old before putting kids in bunk beds?
I have 4 yr old twins, one boy one girl, sharing a room right now until we find a 3 br in the area... I was thinking of getting them bunk beds to save some space in their room since the rooms are a bit small... sooooo how old would you think a kid should be before they are in bunk beds? Thanks everyone!!

When my parents first let me and my brother share bunk beds, I was six and he was three. obviously I slept up the top.

Four is a little young. Give them at least one more year. Even my 9 year old cousin fell off the top of one and broke his arm, but he was mucking about with my other cousin (sorry, detail not needed :P )

Hope I've been of use to you. :)
If you put them in bunks at their current age you should get the edge bars so they don't roll out. The biggest problem will be their trying to climb out on their own. I would get trundle bed. The top is lower than a bunk and the lower bed rolls under the top during the day. Many of them can be changed over to bunk beds at later date. Then you only have to deal with using the beds as trampolines. My mom still tells stories about my doing that.
safty info I have seen on and about bunk beds says a child should be 6 years old before sleeping on the top bunk
